Fundraising ideas

Group of supporters presenting a fundraising chequeYou have crossed the finish line but you can still help tackle bowel cancer.

Run for Moore is a fundraising event and your entry fee does not include a donation to the charity. We need your help to raise vital funds to continue our bowel cancer research.

To make it easy for you to extract the cash from your mates we have come up with some ideas to get them digging into their pockets.

Summer BBQ

Invite friends and family to a BBQ where you supply the food in return for a donation on what they would normally spend on food for the day.

5-a-side

Hold a 5-a-side tournament and get your friends to make a donation to join in.

Have a clear out

You could be surprised at how much the stuff you don't want might get you at a car boot sale or on eBay.

Dress down day

Ask your employer if you can have a dress down day and charge £2, and charge those who don't a £5 penalty fee.

Quiz night

Invite, friends, family and colleagues to a quiz night. Charge each team an entry fee and use all your contacts to get a prize donated for the winning team.

Supermarket packing

Ask your local supermarket if you can pack bags for customers in return for a donation. Get a group of friends to help for a few hours on a busy Saturday morning.

More ways to raise money

People are often more generous if they feel like they are getting something back, so it's a good idea to plan an event, activity or provide a service when asking for donations.

How the money you raise helps

Remind people why you are fundraising and tell them what a difference their donation makes.
