We run a number of campaigns to raise awareness of cancer and promote healthy living. All of our messages are based on scientific evidence.
Our awareness campaigns include:
Reduce the Risk
Reduce the Risk is our ongoing cancer prevention campaign, which aims to raise awareness of the fact that half of all cancers could be prevented by changes to lifestyle.
The campaign highlights five important ways that you can lower your cancer risk:
- Stop smoking
- Stay in shape
- Eat and drink healthily
- Be SunSmart
- Look after number one
Smokefree England: Welcome to the Great Indoors
On July 1st virtually all enclosed public places and workplaces in England will become smokefree. Find out more about how a Smokefree England means everyone can enjoy a healthier atmosphere indoors.
Our SunSmart campaign
SunSmart, our national skin cancer awareness campaign gives you practical advice to help you and your family stay safe in the sun.
Our Smoke is Poison campaign
Did you know that cigarette smoke is a toxic cocktail of 69 cancer-causing chemicals? Find out more about the contents of smoke.
Our Open Up to Mouth Cancer campaign
Open Up to Mouth Cancer aims to raise awareness of mouth cancer and its early signs and symptoms. If spotted early, most cases of this cancer can be successfully treated.
Our Cancer Awareness Roadshow
Our cancer awareness units, in partnership with the Marie Keating Foundation, are touring the UK to give people information about how to reduce the risk of cancer and the importance of early detection.
(This campaign was known as 'Take Five' in 2006).
