What we do
All our work is focussed on beating cancer, now and in the future.
We have four statements in place to guide our work and support our vision. In the following pages, we've shown how just some of our achievements from 2006/07 fit in to each of these areas of activity.
- We carry out world–class research to improve our understanding of cancer and find out how to prevent, diagnose and treat different kinds of cancer.
- We ensure that our findings are used to improve the lives of all cancer patients.
- We help people to understand cancer, the progress we are making and the choices each person can make.
- We work in partnership with others to achieve the greatest impact in the global fight against cancer.
This year a team of 26 scientists and staff from the London Research Institute attended our Race for Life event in Battersea, cheering on participants and handing out medals at the end.
